DRIEHAUS PRIZE GOES TO ANDRES DUANY AND ELIZABETH PLATER-ZYBERK
Miami architects Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, the husband and wife team who lead the traditional town planning movement called the New Urbanism, were named the winners Tuesday of next year's Richard H. Driehaus Prize, which goes annually to a tradition-minded designer and now comes with $200,000 in prize money.

TALL BUILDINGS IN HISTORIC URBAN AREAS
Motion to the EU Parliamentary Assembly which strongly advocates that adequate measures should be taken at all appropriate levels of policy and decision making to ensure preservation of historic urban landscapes in Europe. These should include specific measures aimed at a regulated construction of tall buildings in designated areas and at keeping the impact of those buildings on the historic urban landscapes within acceptable limits.
